Happy Canada Day Gibson Soldiers!

We hope everyone had a fun, relaxing, and safe long weekend!

June was a great month for Gibson MMA and we're proud of all of our students that have trained hard!

Summer's just begun for many of us, so don't forget to keep hydrated before, during, and after class. If you want to order a shake, wrap, or salad for after class, you can always let us know either before or during your class. We'll aim to have it ready for you by the time class is complete, so you can enjoy a refreshing meal sitting at one of our tables outside in the sun!

Rank Tests are fast approaching Gibson Soldiers! They'll be starting the week of July 14th. Make sure you're coming in to train as much as possible before then! Teens are welcome to come in to hit pads and work on their technique during Open Time on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12-1pm.

On June 21st 2014, one of our Gibson Soldiers went to war for Gibson MMA and we're poud of this strong warrior. Howe "Super" Tan made a spectacular amatuer ring debut on Saturday! At 2:51 of the 1st round, he submitted his opponent with an armbar for the win! We're super proud of this humble and gracious warrior that has been training at Gibson MMA for over 7 years! Way to go Super Tan!

Rank Tests will be held the week of July 14th. School's already out so make sure you're coming in and training Gibson Soldiers. Teens are welcome to come in to hit pads and work on their technique during Open Time on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12-1pm.

Gibson MMA will be closed on Monday June 30th and Tuesday July 1st for Canada Day. We encourage all of our Gibson Soldiers to enjoy their long weekend with their families and friends. We're looking forward to coming back in July to see all of our Gibson Soldiers training hard to push themselves to supass their boundaries. As the saying goes, you reap what you sow. Let's make sure our harvest is bountiful!

The 2x/Day Challenge is complete! The workouts have been tallied! Drumroll please..... Our 2 winners for the 2x/Day Challenge are Taryn and Lani!!!

Taryn won the challenge by completing 64 workouts in 1 month!! Wow!! It's exciting to see one of our Gibson Soldiers push herself to meet her goals and annihilate this challenge! Her prize pack was $150 for Browns, $125 for Spa Utopia, & a Gibson Shaker for all of the nutritious protein shakes she gets at the Gibson Health Bar!

Lani came in 2nd with 37 workouts!! Her prize pack was $100 for Browns, a Cineplex prize pack, and a Cuban Cigar for her to enjoy!

We are proud and inspired by both Gibson Soldiers as they showed true determination and warrior spirit. Check out our Facebook an Instagram pages for pics. We can't wait for the next 2x/Day Challenge. We'll let you know as soon as it starts so you can sign up too!

This Saturday, June 21st, Howie and Matt will be fighting in the Battle@Bellingham 2. The fights start at 7pm in the Bellingham Sportsplex. Both Gibson Soldiers have been training hard so it should be an adrenaline fillled evening when we go to war. If you're able to come down to support, we'd love to see you there.

Have you been challenging yourself this past week? Have you noticed a difference between the number of sprawls you can do in 1 minute? Have your squats gotten deeper and you jumps higher? That's awesome! Keep it up!

What's your definition of success? Is it achieving your goals? Is it to make a goal, outline your strategy to achieve it and then attempt this plan? Is it pushing yourself to achieve 1 more pull up that you could do last week? Is it surpassing what you thought were your physical, mental or emotional boundaries? Remember, the limitations we believe are impeding the achievement of our goals are oftentimes perceived andvizualize. There are multiple definitions of success and we each identify with one of them at one time or another. We encourage you to think about your definition of success. This is important as it will help you to define what it is you value and what steps you can take to achieve success.

Gibson Health Tip: We all have busy lives, but healthy eating with a bectic lifestyle is possible with preparation. If you're prepared, you won't find yourself reaching for sugar laden products that lack nutrition. We have meal plans available that include salads, wraps, and shakes. Or, maybe one day you're short on time or have a business lunch? Don't fret. Do you work in the area? Swing by to grab a fresh, organic wrap or salad.
