Gibson MMA has been swept up by the season of Summer and has been out and about in the Community!

This Summer we entered a couple different car shows. The Gibson Crew made quite the splash at the Newport Village Summer Fest Show and Shine where Rob's vintage Mustang earned Best in Show and Shane's vintage pickup earned the People's Choice Award! The Gibson Crew were representing in full force at the 18th Annual Sleepy Hollow Rod Run and Show 'N Shine hosted by the Coaster's Car Club over on the Sunshine Coast. Classic cars, hot rods, and specialty vehicles lined the streets, including Mr. Gibson's very own classic Impala! Both shows were great events and we loved being out in our community representing our gym and our home.

New Summer Swag is expected to arrive this week! We have new tanks and t’s available at the Gibson Health Bar/Pro Shop in eye-catching green and silver! Make sure to pick up yours asap as we always sell out fast!

Believe it or not Gibson Soldiers the end of summer is nearly upon us and Fall is around the corner! We all love Summer since the sun is out in full force, providing us with warmth and that always precious vitamin D. Plus, for many of us Summer is time for traveling and spending long days enjoying friends and family, the beach and the patio - often at the expense of our eating habits.

So we thought we'd give you a jump-start on wrapping up your Summer by giving you some healthy eating tips to get ready for Fall. If you’re looking to eat healthier and maybe drop those few pounds that might have crept on when the sun was shining, try incorporating the following 3 tips:

#1: Eat Breakfast

I know this seems so simple, but how many times are you rushing out the door and forget this meal?

A quick, protein-filled breakfast can start raring your metabolism for the rest of the day. Don’t have enough time to cook in the morning? Order ahead of time and swing by the Gibson Health Bar on your way to work. We’ve created the ultimate breakfast in the Warrior Bowl. It’s got oats, honey, bee pollen, and bananas, making it delicious and nutritious.

You can also choose to grab a protein shake on your way to work. The Gibson Health Bar serves both whey protein and vegetarian protein shakes. Try the Fearless or the Jewel next time you’re in!

#2: Enjoy Fresh Summer Salads

There are two really great and incredible nutritious foods in season right now: berries and tomatoes. We include both in our shakes and our salads. The salads are light and made fresh daily from all organic produce.

#3: Come to class!

Start taking advantage of the range of classes offered at the gym. We’re a community that loves to support each other’s goals. Chat with us, as well as your fellow students, about your goals so we can make them a reality!

The Power of Positive Thinking is immeasurable.

Positive thinking is more than just a perspective. It is a mental and emotional attitude that focuses on the bright side of life and expects positive results. Failure is not option. Opportunities and solutions are abundant and anticipated.

Positive people visualize happiness, health and success for themselves, their communities, and their families. They believe that they can overcome any obstacle and difficulty. This is because they can. The challenges they face are opportunities for them to grow and push their boundaries. Positive poeple view difficulties as the seeds for achievement.

Positive thinking is a way of life.

With a positive attitude we experience more energy and happiness. Positive thinking also has the power to benefit our health and confidence.

You’ll notice that when you are positive, you will walk taller, your voice will be stronger, and your body language will be a truer representation of how you feel.

The power of positive thinking can change your life as it is often the cause of success and happiness. Adopting a positive attitude has been known to influence positive changes since it encourages constructive and creative thinking, optimism, inspiration, and it empowers and fortifies strength of character.

At Gibson MMA we encourage everyone to adopt a positive attitude. Each of us has the ability to impact and influence countless other people with our attitudes, our thinking, our energies, our words, and our actions. Wouldn’t you rather positively affect your family, friends, co-workers, and the people in your community?

You can demonstrate and adopt positive thinking in several ways:

  1. You can choose to be happy. This is a choice. Say no to the stress and yes to peace, calm, and happiness.

  2. Look at life from a glass half full lens. This, again, is matter of choice. The more you do so, the more natural this lens will seem.

  3. Choose to be optimistic.

  4. Find reasons to smile more often.

  5. Believe in yourself, the people around you, and the Universe.

  6. Surround yourself with positive people.

  7. Repeat affirmations that inspire and motivate you.

  8. Visualize your goals and the reality you desire.

Summer's here Gibson Soldiers! The days are longer, the sun is shining, and the weather is heating up! What that often means is that you're hearing the call of the patio. We hear it too!

Before hitting up the patio, Stanley Park, or the beach, make sure to get in a quick workout!

For the month of August, we invite you to bring a family member, friend, or co-worker to try 1 class with you!

Show them why you love kickboxing, wrestling, muay thai, mma, or boxing! As a team we love to have fun during our workouts. Share the experience with them. Let's motivate our mums, dad, brothers, cousins, friends, co-workers and everyone in our community to be as healthy and fit as possible!

We encourage you to bring as many family members, friends, and co-workers as you can. If you can bring a different person every day, do it! It's always fun and exciting to meet new people and we would love the opportunity to share Gibson MMA with the community!

Gibson Health Tip: Keep up your training at the gym! Aerobic activity is important for keeping the heart strong and healthy. You work hard at the gym so don't forget fuel your body with a salad, shake or wrap before you take some special summer time with your family, kids, and friends to enjoy Nature's bounty outside.
