Summer Sizzle

Warrior Bowl

Are you sizzling from all this Summer heat? That's great!

For many of us the sizzle of Summer means 3 things: Patio! Beach! Vacation!

Just don't forget to get in your workout before you hit the beach or patio! We all love to socialize and have a couple cocktails, so ensure you can do so guilt free and with confidence. Don't feel like working out during the hot hours of the day? Or maybe you have plans for the evening? Train in the morning or come in during your lunch hour for open time!

Exercise has been proven to increase mental focus and acuity for up to ten hours post workout. Working out in the morning means that your brain and your body are in shape for the rest of the day! If you're aiming to lose weight, working out in the morning is one of the best times to train since it results in fewer cravings throughout the day, plus your body will burn calories faster and more efficiently throughout the day. Another great benefit of working out in the morning are the production of those lovely endorphins that we all love, as they will improve your mood and energy levels and their effect can last well into the afternoon!

Make sure you're still getting in that 1 hour per day. Just 1 hour per day willhelp you to gain muscle tone, strength, and stamina. Plus, it will help you feel better emotionally.1 hour per day can have an amazingly positive impact in how you carry yourself, your self esteem, and self image. Basically, that 1 hour per day will make you sizzle! On the inside as well as the outside!

Gibson Health Tip: Just finished your morning workout? Try our Warrior Bowl! It's rich with nutrition from oatmeal, bananas, walnuts, honey, and bee pollen. Bee pollen is made by honeybees and is one of nature's most completely nourishing foods since it contains nearly all of the nutrients required by humans. Bee pollen is rich in proteins (approximately 40%), free amino acids, vitamins (including B-complex), and folic acid. Bee pollen is richer in proteins than any animal source. It contains more amino acids that beef, eggs, or cheese of equal weight. About half of its protein is in the form of free amino acids that are ready to be used directly by the body. Super cool fact: 1 teaspoon of bee pollen takes 1 bee working 8 hours a day for 1 month to gather! Here are 6 reasons to include Bee Pollen in your daily diet: 1. It's a natural energy enhancer 2. It soothes the skin when used in topical products 3. It reduces the presence of histamine, reducing allergy symptoms 4. It inhibits cravings, helping with weight loss 5. It contains enzymes that aid with digestion 6. It naturally boosts your immune system. Try the Warrior Bowl after your next workout!

Summer Fever

Chicken Salad

Summer's in full swing! The hot days are here and we're loving it!

Speaking of Summer Fever, have you been drinking enough water? Make sure you're staying hydrated! As the temperatures rise ensuring that you're getting enough to drink is important whether you're playing sports, training, sitting outside in the sun, or travelling. Your body is a superhero and by keeping your body hydrated, you are acting as it's sidekick! If your body is hydrated, it is easier for your heart to pump blood through the blood vessels to your muscles. Plus, hydration helps your muscles to remove waste so they can work more efficiently! Be the Robin to your body's Batman!

Rank Tests are next week Gibson Soldiers! July 14th is the day! You've only got a couple more days to come in to train as much as possible before then! Remember that Open Time is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 12-1pm.

Salads are great since they're low in calories, but at the same time pack a powerful punch helping your body to be the Superhero it wants to be! Each type of leafy green offers different healthy benefits. For example, dark green lettuce, kale, and spinach are full of vitamins A, C, E, and K. All of these vitamins together combine to support your immune system, protect your bones, and keep yor cardiovascular sysem healthy. Plus, leafy greans are low in calories, but packed with fiber! This means that you'll feel satisfied with fewer calories! We also love to include walnuts, carrots, cucumber, avocado, and, of course, tomatoes in our salads since red vegetables contain the antioxidant lycopene, which reduces the risk of heart disease.
